Dalehouse is a picturesque hamlet of mainly stone-built cottages, surrounded by farmland and woods. Several streams converge here and three quiet country lanes lead up to the North Yorks Moors about five miles inland. At the hub of the village is a working farm which also offers holiday accommodation and another holiday cottage adjoins the pub. Old ironstone mine workings exist in the surrounding woods, and the mill next door to the pub dates back to the Domesday Book. Considering all this is only three quarters of a mile from the beach, Dalehouse has a lot to offer.
