The Fox & Hounds, Dalehouse is a traditional old country pub set in an idyllic wooded valley 15 minutes walk from Staithes village. Circular walks from Staithes via Cowbar and Runswick via Hinderwell pass right by the Pub. The Pub has two comfortable bars with an open fire and woodstove, where you can enjoy very reasonably priced drinks. There are tables outside at the front and a sun terrace overlooking an old 18th Century stone bridge at the rear, for when the weather is fine. The Pub is free from televisions, juke boxes, fruit machines and bad language, so customers can enjoy a peaceful, friendly atmosphere. This has proved very popular for the 24 years we have owned the pub.
